The AI Agent Playbook for Customer Onboarding

Onboarding is the part of the customer relationship that decides everything that comes after it. The faster a customer gets to value, the less risk there is of frustration and churn down the line, and the slower it goes, the more that risk builds. In the first episode of LaunchAI Live, LaunchBay co-founder Sam Chlebowski laid out a real playbook for using AI agents to keep onboarding and implementation on track, built from what LaunchBay customers are actually doing today, not a hypothetical.
LaunchAI Chat: a daily briefing and a place to ask anything
Sam started with LaunchAI Chat, which is itself a kind of agent: it reviews your projects, messages, and tasks in the background and opens every session with a briefing of unread items and anything critical that needs attention.
From there, it's a place to ask direct questions: what's high priority, which tasks are overdue, who needs attention. Sam demoed asking it to surface the projects with the lowest health scores and suggest follow-up actions, and the chat didn't just list problems, it proposed specific next steps: assigning a task to an internal owner with a real deadline, or sending a client a nudge with a simple getting-started message and a link straight to their portal.
Three agents, each watching for one specific thing
Below the chat, LaunchBay runs three purpose-built agents, each watching for a different failure mode in onboarding:
Client Sentiment flags negative or frustrated tone the moment it shows up in a message or comment, catching things like a customer quietly asking "when is this actually going live?" before that frustration has a chance to build.
Client Accountability surfaces the blockers and missing information you're still waiting on from a customer, and suggests a nudge to go with it. This is also where AI Nudges come in: a one-off email with a link straight back to the relevant task or portal, so instead of noticing an overdue item a day or two late, you see it the moment it's flagged and can act immediately.
Decisions reads through tasks, comments, and meeting transcripts to catch every decision made along the way, especially useful for the meeting where something gets agreed to in passing, the conversation moves on to a bigger topic, and that smaller commitment never gets logged. Once a decision is surfaced, LaunchAI can draft, send, and assign the follow-up tasks that come out of it.
The same playbook, wherever you already work
Everything demoed inside LaunchBay is also available through the MCP Connector in Claude, ChatGPT, and other MCP-compatible tools, so the same agents and workflows aren't limited to LaunchBay's own interface.
